AHBA serves as a consumer information agency to residents of Acadiana who are in need of a licensed builder, remodeler, or other subcontractor. The association provides a point of contact to the public regarding industry issues, laws, and licensing and also conducts consumer events annually such as The Home, Garden, & Lifestyle Show, Parade of Homes, and Home for the Holidays.

The Acadian Home Builders Association continues its commitment to improving the professionalism and image of our membership by educating consumers about the importance of doing business with AHBA members.

HomeBuilders SIF

Builders and contractors have unique needs when it comes to their workers' compensation coverage. The HomeBuilders Self-Insurers Fund understands this. The fund began in response to the turmoil of the commercial insurance marketplace back in the late 70's. Insurance carriers were exiting Louisiana, and builders and contractors were faced with rising insurance costs, poor service and mounting problems. The answer was the HomeBuilders Self-Insurers Fund (HomeBuilders SIF), a workers’ compensation program built specifically for the construction industry.
