Homebuilding Industry Issues

The Voice of the Housing Industry
One of the functions of the Acadian Home Builders Association is to be the voice of its members when it comes to important legislative issues. AHBA monitors the interests of your business and the homebuilding industry by supporting all pro-housing legislation on the local, state, and national level. The association is your political watch dog and advocate. In addition to these efforts, the Louisiana Home Builders Association and National Association of Home Builders work closely together lobbying Baton Rouge and Washington, D.C. lawmakers to ensure they have your best interests at heart. Home for the Holidays

Home for the Holidays is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and annual project of the Acadian Home Builders Association (AHBA) and KATC-TV 3. Each year, the builder and associate members of AHBA build a brand new, state-of-the-art home which is given away in a raffle drawing right before Christmas. Proceeds from raffle ticket sales are dedicated to local, shelter-related charities including Lafayette Habitat for Humanity, Faith House, Healing House, and St. Michael’s Center for Veterans. So far, AHBA and KATC have been able to donate over $1.2 Million to these charities since the project’s conception in 2005.
